My friend CY has born a baby girl this afternoon at 2.30 and she is weight seven pounds. She is healthy but baby has got extra toe on one of her foot. I kept in touch with my friend via sms and she is worry of her baby. Doctor told her that baby will need to have x-ray and see her condition as well. He told her that there is no need to rush to remove her extra toe.
The doctor even told her that there is nothing they can do at the hospital and told her to find another hospital to find out. I think he mean to say asking her to look for a specialist. I know my sister’s friend has extra finger and she has a normal life like everyone else.
This is different as CY’s baby gal is having extra toe on one of her foot. Does anyone know where has a suitable specialist that can help her? If yes please let me know so I will let her know.

Hi TH! Congrats to your fren CY for having a newborn baby girl
As for the extra toe, I’m sorry I don’t know of any specialist. I think if the extra toe doesn’t pose any problem, just leave it be.
My niece has an extra finger too, the parents left it as it is. I think it’s unique. Just my opinion though.
@Nessa, thanks for the advice. I will let her know.
congratulations to your friend on the birth of her daughter TH
I’m afraid I cannot help with any advice on her extra toe…
I hope she finds a specialist who can advise her…
@kim, thanks yeah she is thinking what to do.
Hi there..
I think it’s my 1st time commenting here..
As for the extra toe, if there is no health risk posed..probably there is no need to remove it??
I dont know anything about getting the right specialist for this case. but in my opinion just let it as it is as long as it doesnt harm her in the future..Th, I’m tagging u..so check it out at my blog k…
@kaDusMama yeah its your first time here to comment
. I think there is not posed of health risk.
@marvic, okay will check out.
My daughter was also born with an extra toe. She had two pinky toes that were connected. We had it removed when she was 10 months old. It was a simple surgery, and she got to go home the same day. She had to wear a cast for about 2 months just to protect it and actually learned to walk wearing the cast. The doctor said that eventually the extra toe could effect her walking and could cause problems with finding shoes, but nothing majorly serious. We had her surgery done at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis IN. You can let your friend know that if she does decide to have the surgery it is a very simple one and not long to recover. My daughter did very well!
@Jessica thanks for telling me I will let my friend know.
